IEK and Council of Engineering Deans and Principals Sign Charter To Strengthen Engineering Education
On 2nd May 2025, the President of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), Eng. Shammah Kiteme, along with Council Members Eng. Jennifer Gache, Eng. Collins Changole, Dr. Eng. Damaris Oyaro, Eng. John Nyaguti, Eng. Annette Murambi, and CEO Eng. Maureen Auka, and representatives from the Council of Engineering Deans and Principals, including the Chairperson, Prof. Eng. Bernard Ikua, and the Secretary, Eng. Martin Nzomo, met to witness and formally sign a transformative Charter between the two institutions.
As part of this commitment, a Joint Working Committee comprising representatives from both IEK and the Council shall be established to:
- Oversee the implementation of this Charter.
- Monitor progress, identify gaps, and propose necessary adjustments.
- Report semi-annually on milestones achieved and emerging opportunities for collaboration.
By signing this Charter, we affirm our shared dedication to supporting engineering students in Kenya and to enhancing the quality of engineering education. Through this collaboration, we aim to establish a strong framework that empowers the next generation of engineering professionals.
